Skilling Stack

Skilling Garden
Long ago we beat on drums to communicate over vast distances, now we use cellphones. Tomorrow, we'll use Skill Stacks: personal, organic antennae made of stone and spirit to not just "message" others but to "be" with them in ways hidden from us by technologies that blind and restrain us.

Organic Antenna
While I call my stack of rocks a paean to our human connectedness, others have accused me of creating an ambitious phallic symbol. I claim innocence, but then... I always have. There really is a serious aspect to this humble pile of rocks, and it doesn’t take a lot of belief, or a course at a psychic institute—just keep the idea in your head, and when the moment arrives: (a sick friend who could use some light, a request for inspiration, or a simple heartfelt telegram of sweetness to a lover); then picture the rocks, and let fly with your best image of life. Your heart will beat the message into your blood, and you will become your own antenna.

Organic Megaphone
The Skill Stack is surrounded by flowers for a reason. Flowers have been teaching me about space, inner and outer, for the past several years. For this I have Georgia O'Keefe to thank, for after studying her works, I came to the conclusion that she was seeing much more than female genitalia in her flowers... As for inner space, many books have described the psychic link between humans. I related especially to Robin Hobb's "Skilling" by the Farseer clan in "Assassin's Apprentice" of the Farseer Trilogy. If you can hear the ocean in a conch, think what songs of space the flowers are humming... but you must listen carefully, and not always with the ears.
I highly recommend any book by
Robin Hobb. You won't be disappointed.
And of course, if you don't know about
Georgia O'Keefe
, then you're in for a great adventure.
If you haven't built your own organic antenna yet, and want to contact me via more tradtional methods, just email me.
